KT&G welcomes to support local independent musicians
KT&G (Chairman Baek Bok-in) will host ‘IndieOn Spotlight 2’ on November 27 with the Busan Music Center to provide growth opportunities for independent musicians working in Busan.
âIndieOn Spotlightâ is a program designed to help aspiring Busan musicians take their skills to the next level by mentoring famous musicians.
KT&G also offers up-and-coming independent musicians the opportunity to experience large-scale performances based on the mentorship of well-known and popular musicians.
Selected musicians benefit from free rental of a live venue at âKT&G Sangsang Madang Busanâ, as well as assistance with promotion and marketing of performances.
Following the first performance in February, the second performance scheduled for November 27 will feature four-member rock band Seoul Bu-In (Seoul Busan Incheon), based in Busan, and Suyeon & Lee Green, who have started performing. know their presence through various bus activities in Busan area.
For their first full-scale performance, singer ‘Harim’, who produces music that crosses all genres, from R&B to world music, will serve as a mentor, and Park Moon-chi, who is a famous producer of the ‘Hangout with Yoo’ popular TV show, will participate as MC and assist with the shoot.
During the performance, you will be able to witness the progress and results of mentoring for emerging independent musicians, as well as each independent musician’s own songs.
Shim Young-ah, Head of KT & G’s Social Contribution Department, said: âThere are a lot of young musicians who are active in the area but don’t have good opportunities even though they have great skills. She added, “KT&G will continue to provide the opportunity for people to make their dreams come true regardless of the region through various regional platforms such as Sangsang Madang Busan”
