National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner to perform soundtrack to upcoming musical film “Cyrano”
The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner are set to mark Joe Wright’s upcoming adaptation of Cyrano.
The next film will be released on December 31, but today Decca Records detailed the soundtrack for the musical film. The Dessner brothers wrote and composed the Cyrano soundtrack, which will be released on November 26. He will also feature lyrics by fellow The National member Matt Berninger alongside songwriter Carin Besser.

The soundtrack also includes the voices of film actors Peter Dinklage, Haley Bennett, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Glen Hansard. The London Symphony Orchestra and pianist Vikingur Ãlafsson also feature on the soundtrack. The next album will be released on CD, LP and white vinyl.
The soundtrack’s first single, “Someone to Say”, will be released on Friday October 8th.
Cyrano is Joe Wright’s adaptation of Erica Schmidt’s musical. This musical is also based on the 1897 play by Edmond Rostand, Cyrano de Bergerac.
In the film, Cyrano (Dinklage) is in love with Roxanne (Bennett). He assumes that she’ll never love him back because of how he looks, but when she says she’s in love with Christian (Harrison Jr.), Cyrano helps him woo her by writing letters to him that he send him.
