In 2019, organizers called the Space Coast Music Festival – with 68 musical acts on six stages in downtown Eau Gallie – the largest live showcase of Brevard County music in at least a generation.
Now, after losing last year to the COVID-19 pandemic, the reinforced event returns on November 6 with 85 local acts. And a wider variety of sound choices.
âIn 2019, we have a lot of rock. From soft rock and indie-garage to metal everywhere, “said Steven Spencer, festival co-organizer. Founder of Harbor City Local, he sings in punk-metal band Sixty Foot Giant.

âThis year we have reggae. We have jazz. We have rap. We have softer, singer-songwriter-inspired stuff,â Spencer said.
How much is admission?
Admission is free and the music starts at 10 a.m. Stages include the Eau Gallie Square pavilion, Highland Avenue municipal parking lot, Intracoastal Brewing Co. beer garden, Funky Dog Improv, Pineapples, and an outdoor St. Clair Street site.
Who will perform?
Included in the musical lineup: Neptune’s Echo, Character Witness, Hot Dog Force, Subculture Threat, The Spring, String Daddy, Paging Mr. Herman, The Slackadaisicals, Tidal Theory, Atlas, The Housing Crisis, Zeddemore, EeeTee, The Gangly Youth, Darien The Great, Frank Rios Band, Shelley Songer Group, Trash Cinema, Positive Chaos, Withering Earth, Sixty Foot Giant, Best Supporting Actor and DL Serios.
âWe really focus on our local groups. They are the stars, âsaid Steve Keller, co-organizer of the festival. He sings and plays drums for Best Supporting Actor and drums for DL ââSerios.
âA lot of them haven’t played for a while. Some of them did, where we get closer to that. And I think a lot of bands have adopted it as an annual event. We all missed it, obviously, so we’re all excited about it, âKeller said.
The schedules and the schedules of the groups are still being finalized for the stages of the festival.

Jazz singer-songwriter Kristen Warren will headline the Space Coast Music Festival with Her Brevard All-Stars. Like Brevard’s other musicians, most of his 2020 concerts have been canceled or postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
âIt has been difficult over the past year. I know that for me and my artist friends, you miss a big part of yourself as an artist for not being able to perform. Not being able to share your creations with people, âWarren said.
âSo doing that is all the more meaningful, to just come back out there and connect with people again,â she said.
âWe all missed it,â she said.
The 2019 event, which was headlined by The Pat Travers Band, featured over 60 food and merchandise vendors and a kids’ zone. Similar plans are underway this year through a partnership with Fleagad Market.
The new stage will feature young artists
Additionally, Spencer said that a new â0.5 stageâ would feature high school jazz groups and child musicians from The Groove Shack.
Organizers donated nearly $ 13,000 of the proceeds from alcohol sales, t-shirts and raffles in 2019 to Wickham Road Music and The Horn Section to purchase musical instruments for students attending Brevard County schools Title I.
âOne thing COVID has kind of taught us is that there are so many more needs than even what we identified in 2019. There is so much more to address,â Spencer said.
âSo we hope to create more opportunities for different students and scholarships. We are working with Wickham Road Music on creating a scholarship program for students who cannot afford classes,â he said.
The Space Coast Music Festival was held from 2010 to 2015 at Manatee Sanctuary Park in Cape Canaveral and various venues in Cocoa Beach, but the event remained dormant for the next four years.
