The Resonant Heart Launches Online Miniseries Celebrating Melbourne Female Artists BIPOC and CALD


The series will be delivered online direct from the beautiful Ok-Topia Yoga Studio in Thornbury.

The resonating heart – the unique multidisciplinary project which celebrates the work of an international group of female artists BIPOC and CALD residing in Naarm / Melbourne – announced an online mini-series, highlighting their history and musical journey through cultures, the continents and beyond.

Conceived last year, The Resonant Heart project was developed in collaboration between musician, curator and storyteller Nela Trifkovic and all the artists, and aims to explore the quintessential themes of love, grief, joy and of suffering, exploring a different aspect of these themes each year.

First with a show in march this year the project enters its next phase, focusing on the musical, eventful and poetic exploration of dreams.

After being off stage for a long time, the artists imagined and consolidated their creative rituals of belonging, and through this online mini-series, are here to communicate more about their daily creative processes, rather than just sharing their works of art. at the completion stage.

With the first installment kicking off on Monday 22 November, the mini-series will feature each of the artists featured in the lineup of the project’s next major event in March 2022, delivered online from the beautiful Ok-Topia yoga studio in Thornbury. . .

Artists participating in the series include MC Lizzie Kuoth, ensemble SARAY Iluminado Femme, movement and installation artist Elnaz Sheshgelani, multidisciplinary artists Tariro Mavondo and Aseel Tayah, and musicians Sarita McHarg and Vahideh Eisaei.

Streaming live in the privacy of our homes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 22 (via YouTube), the first episode will see Lizzie Kuoth catch up for a heart-to-heart fraternal conversation with dream weaver Sarita McHarg. One week later, on Monday, November 29, the second episode offers an intimate and intimate look at the musical reveries and transformative journeys of the SARAY Iluminado Femme trio, with more episodes to be announced soon.
