Yeah Yeah Yeahs announce first UK gigs in 9 years

After almost a decade since their last new album Mosquito, iconic indie-rock band from New York, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, have announced their first UK gigs in around nine years and promise to play new music. Both shows will take place in Manchester and London alongside groundbreaking post-punk band Dry Cleaning and enigmatic synth enthusiast Anika.

“Okay UK! We come to lend our light to the dark ages and holy shit are we ready to play our hearts out for you!! Yes it’s been 9 years since we stepped onto your club stages “, the group said in a statement. “Yeah, we have such fresh and NEW tracks to try on you! Yeah the bill is so MAJOR with Dry Cleaning and Anika in London and English Teacher in Manchester. Get dressed! Make it a night! Support your favorite band you may have seen debut in Brixton in 2002!! Yeah let’s not wait another decade to see each other again! CAN NOT WAIT! They don’t love you like we do!! I love YYYs. »

In 2020, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs announced that they were playing a festival and were asked whether or not they were working on new material. Bandleader Karen O replied, “All I can say is that I feel ready to make music.”
