Zona Music Festival brings Beach House, Portugal. the man in phoenix

There’s a new music festival in downtown Phoenix that should speak directly to the people of Viva PHX.

Beach house, Portugal. The Man, Bleachers, Tegan and Sara and Japanese Breakfast are set to headline the inaugural Zona Music Festival at Margaret T. Hance Park on the weekend of December 3-4.

The event will feature a wide range of national and local alternative, indie, pop and rock acts, in addition to spotlighting several nearby businesses and vendors.

Psyko event producer Steve Presents and Downtown Phoenix Inc. shared details of the two-day boutique festival at a press conference on Wednesday, August 24, with remarks from Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and Congresswoman Greg Stanton.

One of the local artists, Breakup Shoes, was on hand for a special acoustic performance.

Other artists with local ties include Miniature Tigers, Playboy Manbaby, Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra, Glixen, Diva Bleach and Pariah Pete.
